Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs for short) are used to ensure consistency and quality within the organisation and ensures that the right people are trained for the job.
This module will help the learner gain knowledge for the theory behind and practical tips for implementing Standard Operating Procedures. Including, understanding what a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is, understanding the value of SOP's, assessments and training matrices - and understanding how to write all three documents.
The functions of SOP include:
- Training of staff
- A means of standardisation and sharing best practice
- A tool to help manage the workplace
- An audit document - training, risk, best practice
- Document control and discipline BD/ISO accreditation
The principles of 'Lean' are also used: Lean is often described as an approach for providing products or services that a customer requires on-time, of the right quality, at the right price, in the right amount, whilst meeting budgetary constraints and continually reducing costs.
The overall aim of this module is to give you a broad knowledge of the theory behind, and the tips for undertaking, Standard Operating Procedures (or SOPs).
Having completed this module learners will be able to:
